Manual Machining

I know how to set up and operate different manual machines such as:

- Mills
- Lathes and heavy lathes
- Swiss lathes
- Broaching machines

I am comfortable with different methods of workholding, using 3-jaw and 4-jaw chucks, eccentric turning, and using dial indicators for setup and alignment.

I can also come up with different ways to hold and machine parts using jigs, softjaws and custom workholding.

I understand when CNC makes sense and when manual machining is more convenient, especially for one-off parts, repairs, and quick modifications.

I also know how to properly use, clean, lubricate, and care for manual machines.
